The Lea River is short but intense, its waters begin to flow high, on the northern slope of the Oiz mountain massif in Munitibar. This place saw the birth of the first stable human settlements in our territory. More than 1,000 years have passed.

After visiting Aulesti, Gizaburuaga and Amoroto, at the other end, Mendexa, at the mouth of the river, we also find archaeological remains and news of its rich activity since Roman times? But it was undoubtedly the 16th and 18th centuries that marked the splendour and wealth of the Lea Valley. Hydraulic mills, iron production, shipyards and seafaring were at the forefront in Europe.

On this route, together with the water, you will have a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy quiet and unknown places full of history.
